Floor Plate
Floor plate, also know as tread plate and diamond plate, is a flat piece of carbon steel rolled to produce raised marks on one side resembling a diamond pattern. The raised pattern provides traction to prevent slips and falls.
The thickness of floor plate determines its function. Thicker material provides sturdy flooring in industrial and other hard-wearing applications, such as industrial or slippery walkways, ramps, stairs and any floor that presents a slipping hazard. Thinner material is malleable and can be bent and cut for various craft projects.
At Texas Iron & Metal, we offer a variety of floor plate ranging from 16 gauge to 1 inch in thickness.
