Prime Steel Rebar

Reinforcing bar, or rebar, is hot-rolled steel bars that are most commonly used in concrete and masonry applications. Prime steel rebar's primary purpose is to reinforce and strengthen concrete to better resist breaking and cracking under tension. The grooved or deformed pattern of rebar promotes a greater adherence to concrete and other surfaces. This enhanced bond fortifies concrete and allows it to remain in a firm and compacted state despite compression and other forces.

As your prime rebar supplier, Texas Iron & Metal provides a full inventory of rebar in various sizes and grades. Our steel rebar experts can help you select the proper grade and thickness depending on your concrete installation or structural reinforcement needs.

Applications

Prime rebar is used in concrete and steel construction projects, including:

  • home foundations
  • sidewalks
  • road pavements
  • bridges
  • drainage structures

Benefits

Fortifying concrete and other structures with reinforcement bar helps reduce the cost of concrete projects. First, the added strength of rebar decreases the required concrete thickness, thus reducing the amount of concrete necessary. It also enhances durability and service life by reducing cracking and breaking. Finally, reinforcement bar reduces the challenges of climate variations so concrete structures bolstered by rebar require less maintenance and repair.
