Can I come out to your location and browse?

Yes! Unlike many steel and pipe stocking yards and warehouses, we are happy to have you look around our inventory with or without one of our team members. If you’d like assistance, our staff will show you around and write down exactly what you want. If you decide to browse alone, we ask that you do it carefully and at your own risk, due to material handling equipment and trucks traveling throughout our yard and warehouses.

Do you have after-hours service?

We can accommodate almost any delivery schedule. There could be additional charges for deliveries outside normal business hours or on weekends. Let your salesperson know that you have a special delivery requirement, and we will do whatever it takes to accommodate you.

Do you carry prime-quality material?

Yes, we carry a very large variety of new prime steel and pipe. Mill test reports are available upon request.

Do you sell stainless steel and aluminum?

Yes, we sell stainless steel and aluminum. We also sell many other metals and are here to help you with anything else you might need.

What is Less-Than-Prime© (LTP) steel or pipe?

LTP© is the term we use for any type of material that may not be in good enough condition to be sold as prime quality. It could be overstock, odd size, rusty, clean, pitted, damaged, reject, miscut or, in some cases, just a great buy! In many cases, LTP© products don’t have mill test reports available.

What grades of steel and pipe do you stock in LTP©?

While our LTP© steel and pipe is purchased in many different grades and types, we don’t sell it as a certain grade of material unless it is certified to be that grade and/or has mill test reports. In many cases, we mark the material with the information that it had mentioned on it when it came to us. We can’t be certain as to the grade, so use this information at your own risk.

How much should I expect to save by purchasing LTP© steel or pipe?

Unless you need mill certification for your material or you must have very clean material, we feel that it is of a great value to buy our LTP© steel or pipe. Our customers typically save from 10-40% or more, depending on the type of material purchased.

What is the best way to get my material?

However you would like to get your material is fine with us. Pick it up or we will deliver it. If you need it very quickly and our trucks aren’t available, we are happy to pay for faster delivery and add it to your order.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Delivery charges vary depending on the size of order and delivery location. If the order is at least $400 and you are located in Houston, delivery is FREE. For orders less than the minimum or outside of the Houston area, our fee is based upon the delivery location.

May I have my material delivered on the same day I order it?

Yes! We will work with you to deliver your order to you as quickly as possible, whether we use our own trucks or an outside delivery service.

When I make an order for material in advance, when can I pick it up?

Upon request, when you order steel and pipe without any cutting, we can have your order ready in 30 minutes or less. If you don’t need it that fast, we would appreciate 1-2 hours to process your order. If we are cutting material for you, please ask your salesperson for an approximate pick-up time.

What is your material return policy?

Within two weeks of purchase and with preauthorization, our customers are welcome to return material that hasn’t been used, as long as it is in at least the same condition as it was when purchased. We do not allow return of any material that has been cut or altered in any way from our normal stocking condition. There will be a 20% restocking fee for any material that is returned.

What can I do if I need steel or pipe NOW?

We are able to have your material available to you whenever you need it. Whether we deliver it or you pick it up, we will work with your sense of urgency in mind. Even if you need it within the hour, the same day or next day, we are happy to help.

Do you have a minimum order?

No, we do not have a minimum for most orders. However, we ask for a $10 minimum purchase for orders that require cutting.

What payment methods do you accept?

Our customers can pay by cash, check, credit card, debit card, ACH, wire transfer or charge to a Texas Iron & Metal account with approved credit.
