NOW HIRING - Warehouse Personnel

Material Coordinator

The position of the Warehouse Material Coordinator is to perform all tasks safely, communicate with customers in a respectful manner, efficiently pull orders and have ownership as a team player. The expectation will be for the Warehouse Material Coordinator to assist customers in the selection of materials, loading of trucks, operate cutting equipment and assist co-workers as the need arises.

Time

  • Report to work no later than 7:20 a.m., and the shift ends at 5 p.m.
  • This position is required to work a fair amount of overtime (“fair” is defined as the average overtime worked by co-workers with the same job description)

Common Expectations

  • Maintain a high level of ethics and integrity
  • Always operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Communicate with customers and co-workers in a respectful manner
  • Report theft or any occurrence when someone approaches an employee to participate in theft
  • Follow all procedures as they relate to receiving materials, shipping orders, pulling, transferring and returning materials to and from inventory
  • Write up orders for customers to purchase materials
  • Write up materials per formal procedures
  • Receive materials as outlined in procedure
  • Take daily forklift inspections
  • Responsible for taking care of all equipment the employee operates and care for racks and buildings
    • This includes the completion of equipment maintenance reports as required
  • Assist in the taking of physical inventory
  • Assist in the training of new employees
  • Move materials manually or by utilizing a forklift
  • Able to physically move 50 pounds on a regular basis

Safety Equipment

  • Steel-toed shoes or boots
  • Leather gloves (will be provided by company)

Appropriate Dress

  • Shirt must have a collar, clean with no holes, and be tucked in at all times
  • Jeans or work pants with no holes
  • If a hat is worn, the bill of the hat must be facing directly forward at all times
  • No Du rags
  • Uniforms will be issued at no cost to the employee (when employee works full-time and is on Texas Iron & Metal’s payroll)
    • It is the employee’s responsibility to take care of his/her uniform, and any charges due to neglect of the employee or lost items will be paid by the employee

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years moving larger products (e.g., pipe exceeding 30’, lumber, etc.)
  • Stable employment history
  • Be able to read and write in the English language
  • Be able to read a tape measure to a 1/16 of an inch
  • Bilingual a plus
